Backups
Backups overview
The fleet backup manager, brokered per application.
Status: preview
The backup manager takes encrypted, deduplicated snapshots of what DevSewa runs for you — databases, uploads, server volumes — and stores them on fleet storage nodes. DevSewa owns the jobs on your behalf under your engine tenant; the manager confines every call the console makes to that tenant.
Who does what
Jobs are created by DevSewa operations, because a job needs a storage node and repository credentials you should never hold. From the console you run jobs, read receipts and request restore checks.
Tenancy
- Live applications use their real repository. Test applications simulate jobs, runs and restore checks without creating any backup repository.
- Storage nodes and agents are operator-only. The console cannot list them.
- Receipts are stamped with the tenant and with who requested the run.
