Hosting overview
What DevSewa runs for you, and which parts of it you operate from the console.
Status: preview
DevSewa offers two kinds of server today: Linux VPS, virtual machines on DevSewa’s own KVM hosts created from cloud images, and dedicated servers, physical machines with an out-of-band controller. Ordering and provisioning are done with the DevSewa team; once a server is registered to your application it appears in the console.
| Action | VPS | Dedicated |

| Live state and uptime | Yes, from the hypervisor and guest agent | Yes, from the controller |
| Power on / shut down / reset | Yes | Yes, via IPMI |
| Browser console | VNC (graphical) | Serial-over-LAN (text) |
| Password reset | Yes | Yes, when the management channel is up |
| Rebuild, resize, snapshots | Coming | By request |
Ownership and scope
- A server belongs to one application. Another tenant asking for its id gets
404, the same as a server that does not exist. - The console never shows which physical host a server runs on, nor any management address. Those stay inside the hosting engine.
- Every power action, console opened and password reset is recorded on the server’s event log and in your audit trail.
